Hi! I’m Hannah and I love creating delightful illustrations that tell stories and evoke warm, fuzzy, nostalgic feels. A total introverted maximalist in life, home and work, and generally want to become a little magical swamp goblin from a fairytale. This will involve all the stereotypes of drinking lots of tea (black, no sugar), reading lots of epic books (Fantasy, Dark Academia please), and of course creating rich illustrations that are full of tiny details.

I tend to work digitally these days, because 1. it allows me to literally zoom in and draw those tiny details 2. importantly, it makes for easier, swifter adjustments around any feedback and 3. honestly, I’m terrible at clean up and would always be leaving paint out everywhere and scattering sketchbook pages all over.

I’m available as a freelancer for brands of all sizes, who need an illustration that’s going to tell the story of their brilliance. I’m especially excited by editorial work and magazine/book covers.

Ink and Tot is the product based brand I work under, including prints and greetings cards, which are available for wholesale. They would be particularly at home in fun, indie shops, which if they have a children/family section- even better! I ran Ink and Tot as an online shop selling prints, clothing, cards and more, for almost 5 years and had hundreds of happy and supportive customers who recognised themselves and their families in the art.

I adore coming up with visuals that allow others to share how they feel, communicate what they want their audience to feel too. That could be bespoke personal commissions that tell of family experiences and in-jokes, enticing covers that make the reader want to connect, or the perfect card that’s going to let someone know how special they are, and be kept always. I’m often inspired by, and love working with people/brands that are also into; adventure, folklore, sentimentality and magic. By magic, I don’t just mean the spells and moon gazing type (although, totally here for that too), it’s the little everyday type. The delight of a new seedling you weren’t sure would grow peeking through the soil, a secret warm pastry in the supermarket carpark after school drop off, hot chocolate and a book after being soaked by unexpected rain, the moment you put on clean pyjamas that a loved one had popped on the radiator for you. The little magic. That’s what I love to capture in illustration and pass on to others.

Here’s some excellent folks I’ve helped make little magic with:
